Here, I'll say it. I. Love. CONID. It all started one fateful March night in 2016 when I stumbled across CONID's website and couldn't help myself. The engineering, the Bulkfiller system, the industrial profile, their logo; it all screamed to me. There weren't many reviews posted online, but I had to have one. Two months later, the slimline arrived and I was hooked.
My collection has grown and matured with two Kingsize, a Regular, and a Minimalistica following. My second Minimalistica arrived about a month ago in the form of the Monarch Fontoplumo Exclusive, the baby brother (sister?) of the Monarch Kingsize Fontoplumo Exclusive.
Let me start by saying this: The Minimalistica is not a small pen. Nicknamed the Mini, "Mini" doesn't refer to its size, but rather its minimalist nature. Without threads and its slick, flowing appearing, I compare it, aesthetically, to the Lamy 2000 without a hooded nib (although, a hooded nib version of the Mini would be pretty amazing). The Minimalistica clocks in at just 5mm shorter than the Kingsize, which, given its name, wouldn't be expected.
The Minimalistica Monarch is a special pen with a muted orange blind cap and end cap. CONID went one step further and added monarch-orange o-rings to the pen, as well, for consistency.
As has been reviewed many times, the real stunner in this pen is the Bulkfiller mechanism. A combination piston and syringe filler, the Bulkfiller is capable of filling the entire barrel of the pen in one shot without any leaking or burping. Made of our machined titanium, the fit and finish of their pen are second to none. Literally; and I mean that, literally, especially when compared to pens two or three times the price. This pen can hold approximately 2ml ink, offering an extremely long writing time.
If you haven't yet played with a CONID, do. If you can't and are on the fence about ordering one, don't second guess. These pens are worth it, period, and this one is not an exception to the rule.
