Nakaya is a special pen company that makes some incredible pens. My first exposure to the brand was a Piccolo Writer in their now discontinued Ama-iro finish. Unfortunately for me, the Piccolo model is just a little too small for my hands and isn't a good fit. As such, I'd been on the lookout for something special and found it thanks to a fountain pen friends in the city.
This beautiful example is a Nakaya Neo Standard in the Toki-tamenuri finish. While not the most hard-to-find pen on the market, it's nib and hardware change the game. Pink gold hardware with a pink gold music nib make this pen stand out, offering an incredible line and a color of hardware that really stands out against the finish. The music nib and its double-slits is beautiful, really taking advantage of the pen's size and warm feel.
The pen itself it a nice size with good weight and balance. The only downside with this pen is the number of twists it takes to unscrew the cap. It's one-and-a-half too many, but it could be worse.
I guarantee there will be more Nakaya in my life in the near future.
